De que substância foi modelada, Se com mil vultos o teu vulto medes? Tanta sombra difunde, enfeixado Num ser que as prende, e a todas sobre excedes;

Adônis mesmo segue o teu modelo Em vã, esmaecida imitação; A face helênica onde pousa o belo Ganhou em ti maior coloração;

A primavera é cópia desta forma, A plenitude és tu, em que consiste O ver que toda graça se transforma

No teu reflexo em tudo quanto existe: Qualquer beleza externa te revela Que a alma fiel em ti acha mais bela.

Substance that was modeled, if a thousand shapes your figure Medes? Much shade diffuses a bundled unless the holds, and outgrow all about;

Adonis even follows your model in vain, dim imitation; The Hellenic face which rests in the beautiful Won it higher coloration;

Spring is a copy of this form, the fullness you are, that is the view that all grace becomes

In your reflection in all that exists: Any external beauty shows you what the faithful soul in you find most beautiful.
